Cycling Tips To Avoid Cycling Injuries

Cycling is one of the best forms of exercise that there is and it is for all ages and abilities as well as being as affordable or expensive as you wish to make it! So whether you're a keen cyclist or a casual peddler, you can improve your performance, wellbeing and comfort with these tips:

**Brake correctly by placing your hands at the ends of the levers.
**On a long downhill, don't stay on your brakes. This may overheat the tire rims, which could cause a blow out. Rather, tap the brakes from time to time.
**Don't pedal in high gear for long spells. This can increase the pressure on your knees and lead to injury.
**Position the handles accurately about 1, 5 cm lower than the top of the seat. **Change your hand and body positions frequently to avoid stiffness.
**Keep your arms loose and don't lock your elbows, they should be bent in order to absorb any bumps, rather than the knock going straight on to the joint.

Cycling is a wonderful activity for fitness and fun, but beginner cyclists need to be aware of ways they can reduce strain and injury on the joints and muscles.

The right gear

Wearing a bicycle helmet is an obvious preventative measure. But many beginning riders aren't aware of the importance of having a bike that fits you properly. For example, a bike that's not correctly sized and fitted to the rider can cause knee, back, neck, arm and wrist problems.

A good bike shop will help you to find the correct size of bike and adjust it to fit you properly. Improper riding techniques can also cause cycling injuries. If you ride with too much pedal resistance, you can strain your quadriceps or knee. Too little pedal resistance can cause increased pressure on your back and the base of the pelvic region.

Experienced cyclists pedal at between 90 100 pedal revolutions per minute. A reasonable resistance for beginning cyclists is from 60 to 80.

Hydration

Drinking ample amounts of fluids helps prevent muscle cramping. It is recommended that you consume 120 to 240 ml of sports drink every 15 to 20 minutes while cycling.

Saddle sores such as chafing and skin irritation are a likely cycling injury. To help prevent this, you should have a properly fitted saddle and should wear cycling shorts with padding in the bottom to protect skin.

How to avoid cycling injuries and remain injury free to enjoy cycling!

Friendship 101

The key to building healthy relationships and friendships is really quite simple. Since it is very difficult to get people interested in you until you have shown an interest in them, taking a sincere and genuine interest in others is an absolute must, if you are to have good friendships. Dale Carnegie once said, If you want a friend you have to be a friend. Of course, you know I believe every word of this statement.

So, whether youre meeting someone for the first time, or youve known each other for years, always ask others questions about themselves. Focus on the other person's interests, hobbies, opinions, feelings, attitudes, challenges, likes, dislikes, family, goals, dreams, and fears.

Always be looking for ways that you can help another. Make an effort to reach out to your friends and potential friends. This might mean making a phone call, or writing a letter of encouragement, sending an email, or stopping in for a visit. How about inviting a friend to lunch or out for coffee, or over for a cup of tea, orwell, I bet you get the idea.

I receive great joy in building my friendships by, out of the blue, just sending a small gift. My wife likes to make greeting cards that she sends out to her friends. I have seen her invest up to a half hour just building a custom card for one of her girl friends. I think this is really special, and I am sure her friends know that she really cares about them.

Speaking of my wife, I must admit I have always been a little jealous of women because their friendships seem to be much deeper and more meaningful than mens friendships. We men tend to have friendships that are much more on the surface and we talk about guy stuff, hunting, cars, money, our favorite brand of beer, and the like, but are careful not to share too much personal stuff. Maybe we guys need to work a little harder at deepening our friendshipsmaybe not be so afraid to be a little vulnerable once in awhile.

The bottom line is that friendships, though not always easyand sometimes even downright messyare so vital to our lives that we cannot afford to let them slide. People need people! Who needs to hear from you today?

You know, Id love to hear from any of you on this subject. Let me know what you do to keep friendships alive and growing in your life.

The Psychology Of Men's Grooming

Why is it that men want to find out about how to look their best, but unlike women, they dont talk to their friends about it? Is it that men are so afraid to admit they want to do what it takes to look their personal best? Is it that they learned from childhood and the media that men arent supposed to be into such things? Is it that they have a fear they will seem feminine if they want to take better care of their skin or hair? Observing men at the skin care counter at various department stores one gets the feeling that before they approach the counter, they look both ways to make sure no one is watching them! God forbid anyone they know may be there and what could be worse then if they walk over to say hello and theyre holding a tube of skin cleanser - what will they think? For whatever the reason is, its time men let go of the stereotypical thoughts that prevent them from achieving looking they way the want to. Its okay to tell your best friend that you found a skin cleanser that you really like. Its okay to tell your significant other that you found a face scrub that is great. Its okay to bring up to your guy friends that they must try a moisturizer, shaving cream, razor, etc. that you really like. Its okay to tell one of your guy friends that they could have better skin if they started taking better care of it.

Mens grooming products, including skin care, shaving products, hair products, etc. are a booming business. Millions of dollars are made by companies who realize that men want in on looking great. Its wonderful that we have so many choices these days, but its time to start talking about it! Thanks to the internet men can buy products on line without anyone knowing. This is great because we have so many options and you dont have to leave your home, or risk being seen purchasing such things at the stores. But I ask the men of the world, please consider being more open about your grooming with your friends. Lets make it easier for the coming generations. If we start now, the labels in the minds of people who judge will change over time.

On another note, there are men who want to look their personal best but dont have a clue about what to do. In the book Grooming Secrets For Men men can finally find out exactly what to do! Everything from how to have perfect skin to how to trim unwanted body hair, to getting the closest shave without irritating your skin, and other great tips are covered. The best part is you can do it all from the comfort of your own home. Be proud of wanting to look your personal best! Remember, the goal is to look your personal best. Be real with yourself and remember the goal is not to look like the guy on the cover of some magazine, but to look the best YOU can look. Another benefit of doing what you can to look your best is that you will feel better about yourself. This of course leads to higher self-esteem and more confidence what a winning combination to experience!

In conclusion, do your best to look great, be brave and proud to go to the skin care counter to try or buy products, start telling others about what youre doing to look so good, and always remember that when you do what you can to look your best, you feel your best, and nothing is better than looking and feeling your best.

Because of You!

This is a new song by Kelly Clarkson, I think once you hear my feeling of this song and what it really stands for, you are going to love it!

Because of you I never stray to far from the sidewalk? What exactly does she want to covey to all of us? Now is this a good thing or a bad thing? Lets see, if you look at it one way its good, because on the side walk it is safe and you wont get hit by a speeding car!

Now what if heaven was in the street and you or I never strayed to far from the sidewalk? Well its quite plan to see, if you dont leave the side walk (YOUR COMFORT ZONE), you will never get to heaven or your reunion with God. What if it doesnt matter if you stay on the sidewalk or go into the street?

What if it really means because of you, God I will never stray, from you, who built me in your own image, because of you, I am connected to you eternally never to be separated, as a matter of fact what if this is the Garden of Eden and we dont know any better?

What if we are collaborators of creation and in the evolution of things, we are waiting for the second coming of Christ, which in all reality is not the end of the world as we know it, its just the beginning of a new consciousness, a new heaven and earth where we will all be equal, regardless of what we have done in the past.

I mean because of you, really means, that we are evolving as a species and what we gained when we ate the apple of good and evil, really was our first revaluation that we are truly connected to GOD and that we cant fail, because we are truly collaborators in creation, every feeling we get each and everyone of us, is God feeling it also, do you see how this could benefit him?

If he knew there was an up, then he sure knew that there was a down, but maybe just maybe he wanted to feel this in the flesh and yes this is were Jesus comes in he was at such a high spiritual level that he showed us how to overcome the so called death, which is not really the end at all, it is just a new beginning of all the experiences wrap up into one giant organism.

Now if we can truly and utterly want to be more like Christ, which means you literally, need to become more and more like him. Are you with me here? Jesus said before Abraham I am, now when it is used in this way it shows us that Jesus was there before, what we call time to the nothing which all things come from.

How then did he multiply the fish and loaves? Well Jesus or the Christ was I am the alpha and omega, the begging and the end. He was, when there was nothing, as all of us came from the nothing into the space and time continuum. Because of you, I AM there is time and space, which truly only exist in your minds, if we are truly present in the NOW, then we as a spiritual being are fulfilled and God has expressed himself through us which we are the I AM.

When Jesus performed a miracle he would look to the sky and said, I thank you father for what you are going to do! Because of you, I multiplied the fishes and loaves, because of you every day I get closer and closer to becoming like you and this is my destiny, because of you I can never be alone, or as the song says, stray to far from the side walk and that would be GOD!
